Composer
Born in Bulgaria, Vasco showed interest in music as a child, banging rhythms and singing all over the house, annoying his sister but showing potential nonetheless.
Later he graduated from the academy for music, dance & art – in the city of Plovdiv and the highly respected national music academy “Pancho Vladigerov” Sofia. There, he studied pop and jazz singing in addition to composition, harmony & polyphony.
At the tender age of 15, Vasco started playing with Bulgarian folk bands as a keyboardist and mastered all sorts of Balkan, Greek, Arabic and other Ethnic styles. At the age of 20 he joined several Pop bands and honed his understanding of 20th century popular music. With the band “Freedom” he embarked on a world tour touching down in over 30 countries through Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.
In 2003 he was a finalist with his song, lyrics, music, and arrangement at the first Eurovision contest in Bulgaria. He was also a semifinalist of the first Bulgarian version of American Idol.
